Holy Ghost

1. "A sacred, divine Spirit filled my heart as he spoke. I could feel that this was the
Savior’s Church. And I felt that the calling he had extended was inspired by the Holy Ghost…I still
treasure these feelings of trust and love.”
(Dieter F. Uchtdorf, The Why of Priesthood Service, April 2012http://www.lds.org/)

2. “Everyone loses his or her way at some point, to some degree. It is through the
promptings of the Holy Ghost that we can be brought safely back onto the right path, and it is the
atoning sacrifice of the Savior that can return us home.”
    (M. Russell Ballard, That the Lost May Be Found, April 2012http://www.lds.org/)

3. “When people make family and religious commitments to gospel principles, they
begin to do better spiritually and often grow temporally as well…Societies at large are strengthened
    as families grow stronger.”
    (M. Russell Ballard, That the Lost May Be FoundApril 2012http://www.lds.org/)

4. “The Holy Ghost communicates important information that we need to
guide us in our mortal journey. When it is crisp and clear and essential, it warrants the title of
revelation. When is it a series of promptings we often have to guide us step by step to a worthy
objective, for the purpose of this message, it is inspiration.”
(Richard G. Scott, How to Obtain Revelation and Inspiration for Your Personal Life, April 2012
    http://www.lds.org/)

5. “First, yielding to emotions usch as anger or hurt or defensiveness will drive away
the Holy Ghost. Those emotions must be eliminated, or our chance for receiving revelation is slight.”
(Richard G. Scott, How to Obtain Revelation and Inspiration for Your Personal LifeApril 2012
    http://www.lds.org/)

6. “Another principle is to be cautious with humor. Loud, inappropriate laughter will
offend the Spirit. A good sense of humor helps revelation, loud laughter does not.”
(Richard G. Scott, How to Obtain Revelation and Inspiration for Your Personal LifeApril 2012
    http://www.lds.org/)

7. “Spiritual communication can be enhanced by good health practices.
Exercise, reasonable amounts of sleep, and good eating habits increase our capacity to receive and
    understand revelation.”
(Richard G. Scott, How to Obtain Revelation and Inspiration for Your Personal LifeApril 2012
    http://www.lds.org/)

8. “It is important that our daily activities do not distract us from listening to the
    Spirit.”
(Richard G. Scott, How to Obtain Revelation and Inspiration for Your Personal LifeApril 2012
    http://www.lds.org/)

9. “No Father would send His children off to a distant, dangerous land for a lifetime of testing
where Lucifer was known to roam free without first providing them with a personal power of
protection. He would also supply them with means to communicate with Him from father to child and
from child to Father. Every child of our Father send to earth is provided with the Spirit of Christ, or
the Light of Christ.  We are, none of us, left here alone without hope of guidance and redemption.”
(Boyd K. Packer, Prayer and Promptings, October 2009http://www.lds.org/)

10. “The Holy Ghost communicates with our spirits through the mind more than through the
physical senses. The guidance comes as thoughts, as feelings through promptings and impressions.”
(Boyd K. Packer, Prayer and Promptings, October 2009http://www.lds.org/)

11. “The Lord has many ways of pouring knowledge into our minds to prompt us, to guide us,
to teach us, to correct us, to warn us. The Lord said, “I will tell you in your mind and in your heart,
by the Holy Ghost, which shall come upon you and which shall dwell in your heart” (D&C 8:2).
You can know things you need to know. Pray that you will learn to receive that inspiration and
remain worthy to receive it. Keep that channel- your mind- clean and free from the clutter of the
world.”  (Boyd K. Packer, Prayer and Promptings, October 2009http://www.lds.org/)

12. Guided by the Holy Spirit, we will learn from our mistakes. If we stumble, we will rise. If we
falter, we will go on. We will never waver; we will never give up.
(Dieter F. Uchtorf, The Why of Priesthood Service, April 2012http://www.lds.org/)

13. If we will pray and ask Heavenly Father who we can help and promise to act on the promptings
He gives us letting us know how we can help, He will answer our prayers and we will become
instruments in His hands to do His work.
(Dieter F. Uchtorf, The Why of Priesthood ServiceApril 2012http://www.lds.org/)
14. As you act on [a] prompting and do it with love, watch as our Heavenly Father uses your
willingness to act to bring about a miracle in your life and in the life of the person you care
about. (David F. Evans, Was It Worth It? April 2012http://www.lds.org/)
15. The Light of Christ together with the companionship of the Holy Ghost must help us determine
if our manner of living is placing us in the Lord’s territory or not. If our attitudes are good,
they are inspired of God, for every good thing comes from God. However, if our attitudes are
bad, we are being influenced by the enemy because he persuades men to do evil.
(Elder Ulisses Soares, Abide in the Lord's Territory, April 2012http://www.lds.org/)

16. The Holy Ghost communicates important information that we need to guide us in our mortal
journey. When it is crisp and clear and essential, it warrants the title of revelation. When it is a
series of promptings we often have to guide us step by step to a worthy objective, … it is
       inspiration.
(Richard G. Scott, How to Obtain Revelation and Inspiration for Your Personal LifeApril 2012
      http://www.lds.org/)

17. When you were confirmed a member of the Church, you received the right to the
companionship of the Holy Ghost. He can help you make good choices. When challenged or
tempted, you do not need to feel alone. Remember that prayer is the passport to spiritual
power. (Thomas S. Monson, “Preparation Brings Blessings,”  Ensign, May 2010)
